You are invited to submit an abstract for a virtual poster at the 2nd Annual O’Donnell Brain Institute Symposium: Frontiers of Neuromodulation to be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, May 20, 2022.

Authors are encouraged to submit abstracts on the theme of neurostimulation treatment and therapy, especially current work which discusses solutions and challenges in the emerging field. Selected abstracts will include a live, virtual 15-minute presentation during the “Trainee Data Blitz” lunch hour of the symposium.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, May 2, 2022

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Guidelines:

  • Authors/trainees and mentors are required to register for the symposium.

  • Eligible trainees may include students, postdoctoral fellows, residents, non-tenure track faculty, instructors, or other fellows, within 10 years of graduation from their terminal degree.

  • Eligible abstracts may be on published scientific articles/abstracts, as well as interim research projects.

  • Abstracts from industry that contain neuroscience research, data, and results are welcome. Abstracts deemed to contain commercial content, products, or service-related advertisements may be rejected by the Planning Committee.

  • Authors submitting abstracts are responsible for ensuring that all authors listed on the abstract have been notified of the submission.

  • Abstracts must be written in English.

Abstract Preparation:

  • Indicate possible conflicts of interest with industry

  • Spell out all abbreviated terms at first use.

  • Do not include a continuation page, illustrations, or tables

  • Do NOT exceed 300 words or use continuation pages, illustrations or tables. Please omit the diagnosis from the title and the body of the abstract.

Content:

  • Content addresses the mechanisms, identification, diagnosis, treatment and/or management of autism spectrum diseases.

  • Abstracts must report work not presented or published prior to the meeting

  • All authors must be listed in space provided (please include a good email address)

Selection Criteria:

  • The abstract selection committee is committed to a rigorous, systematic process to identify presentations that will contribute to the overall goals of the symposium. As such, the evaluation and selection of abstracts will be based on:

  • Clarity of purpose/problem statement

  • Quality of research methods (if applicable)

  • Relevance to research or clinical practice (applicability or advances knowledge in the field)

  • Each abstract will be reviewed by the Planning Committee, and decisions to accept or reject abstracts will be notified by May 13, 2022 via email.

  • Selected abstracts will include a live, virtual 15-minute presentation, and a PDF of the slide deck need to be submitted in a separate link by Thursday, May 12, 2022 by 5:00PM CST.
