John Modrall, M.D.
Dr. Modrall is currently Chief of Surgical Service at the Dallas VA Medical Center and Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. Subsequently he completed fellowship training in Vascular Surgery at the University of Michigan. In 1998 Dr. Modrall joined the faculty in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he is currently Professor of Surgery and Program Director in Vascular Surgery. He currently serves an Associate Editor for Annals of Vascular Surgery and is a Co-Editor-In-Chief of VESAP4. He is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Vascular Surgery. His educational contributions have been recognized with several teaching awards, including two prestigious Socrates Awards from UT Southwestern Medical school, given to the top 6 educators in the institution. Dr. Modrall’s primary research interests include identifying predictors of outcome for renal artery stenting and understanding the types of clinical volume that influence outcomes in vascular surgery.
