The 4th Annual UTSW Neurotherapeutics Update CME live activity wlll provide a review and update in key areas of clinical neurology.  Emphasis will be placed on updates in diagnosis, management, and the most current treatment modalities that have practical applications for neurologists, other clinicians, and health care professionals.

Target Audience

This CME activity is designed for Physicians, Advanced Practice Nurses, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, Allied Health Professionals, and other healthcare professionals that specialize in neuroscience and neurotherapeutics, who are interested in learning about the most current treatment modalities and best management practices, in order to improve patient care and health outcomes.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants shall be able to:

  • Investigate best options for diagnosis, pharmacological and surgical management of facial pain.
  • Explain diagnostic approach as well as surgical and non-surgical management of spine disease.
  • Interpret latest updates in diagnosis and treatment modalities to improve long-term disability outcomes in stroke patients.
  • Explore and implement novel management approaches in treating MS patient to improve long-term mobility.
  • Investigate the latest diagnostic options in accurately diagnosing patients with dizziness.
  • Identify Psychogenic Movement Disorders (PMDs) and implement effective multi-disciplinary treatment options.
  • Evaluate clinical trials of novel agents in migraine treatment along with safety/tolerability data, pharmacokinetics and mechanism of action.
  • Differentiate and treat different forms of rapidly progressive dementias based on new diagnostic criteria.
  • Assess the efficacy and safety of new treatments and medications available for managing neuromuscular disorders.
  • Evaluate what effects pregnancy, menstruation, oral contraception have on epilepsy and how these states influence anti-epileptic drugs.
