Filoshia Barrow
Filoshia L. Barrow Biography
Filoshia L. Barrow has been with UT Southwestern Medical Center for over 7 years. She has been in Nursing for over 17 years in which she specialized in pediatrics for 6 years before transitioning into Gastroenterology Nursing. She is the current Endoscopy/Pulmonary Departments Charge Nurse for over 6 years. She has 13 years’ experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
She attended Amarillo College and received her Licensed Vocational Nursing (2002), then her Associates Degree Nursing Licensure (2007). She graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2016). Currently Filoshia is attending UT Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management (2018) pursing a Master’s in Business Administration Healthcare Organization Leadership. Her projected graduation date is Spring (2020).
Her notable achievements include: Strauss Award recipient (2013), Aspiring Leaders Program (2018), and Daisy Award Nominee (2018).
Her motto is, “We start over daily.” She enjoys her profession, and has a true passion for standing firm on doing what’s right for her patients and her team. She is a friend, mentor, support system, teacher, and leader to her peers and colleagues.
