Ran Kornowski, MD, FACC, FESC is the director of the cardiology department and institute of interventional cardiology at Rabin Medical Center in Petach Tikva, Israel. He is a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and holds a Cathedra focusing on cardiovascular intervention research and cardiac surgery at Tel Aviv University, Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. Prof. Kornowski is the current president of the Israel Heart Society (2017-2019) and has served as the chairman of the Israeli National Working Group on Interventional Cardiology (2009-2013). Between 2006-2010, he served as the head of the Research Authority at Rabin Medical Center.

Prof. Kornowski is a world-renowned cardiologist and scholar. Owing to his leadership, the cardiology department at Rabin Medical Center has become the largest clinical and academic cardiology program in Israel, recognized worldwide as a leading institution.

Prof. Kornowski established a cardiovascular research organization within the cardiology department, conducting multiple clinical trials, basic and translational research projects, and innovations geared towards improved diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular medical practices. His main research and scientific publications focus on improving patients' outcomes during coronary interventions, new revascularization technologies and procedures, advanced coronary imaging modalities (e.g. image based FFR), best practices for aortic stenosis patients undergoing TAVR, and coronary therapeutic innovations. He has also studied the impact of caloric restriction on the heart and the influence of diabetes mellitus on myocardial and coronary functions.

Prof. Kornowski wrote and co-authors some 500 peer review papers and book chapters. In addition, he authored multiple columns on cardiovascular health in Haaretz, one of the most influential newspapers in Israel.

Prof. Kornowski is a co-founder of three start-ups in the cardiovascular field, which were founded in the catheterization laboratory of Rabin Medical Center using comprehensive intellectual property filing and technology transfer pathways.
