The purpose of this program is to: 1) provide a forum to review and discuss the clinical management of patients and to evaluate issues confronted by today’s Nurse
Practitioners and Physician Assistants in both public and private clinical practice and medical research 2) provide a forum through which current UT Southwestern
protocols and Ethical issues are addressed. The course material will be presented through lecture presentations, power points, case studies, question and answer
sessions, and video presentations.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Review the management of a diversified group of cancer patients through case presentations with pathologic and radiologic review and discussions by medical, radiation and surgical oncologists
  2. Distinguish the importance of the interaction of surgical, medical and radiation modalities in the treatment of these patients
  3. Present the most recent advances in cancer therapy and basic cancer research from a clinical and laboratory perspective, with an emphasis on new translational research approaches.
