Biosketch:
Dr. Bruce Mickey joined the faculty of the UT Southwestern Medical School in July of 1984 on the completion of his residency in Neurological Surgery. At present, he is a tenured Professor of Neurological Surgery with joint appointments in Otolaryngology and Radiation Oncology to recognize his collaborative efforts with those departments in skull base surgery and neuro oncology. Since 2014 he has held a joint appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark.
He was instrumental in the formation of UT Southwestern’s Annette Strauss Center for Neuro Oncology in 1999, and currently serves as its Director. His CV lists 84 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Mickey’s clinical efforts are focused on the surgical management of benign and malignant intracranial tumors and on epilepsy surgery. For many years he has been recognized by his peers as a Best Doctor by D Magazine, a Top Doctor by U.S. News & World Report, and a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly.
