Sandra Wong, MD MS
Sandra L. Wong, MD, MS, FACS, FASCO is the William N. and Bessie Allyn Professor of Surgery and Professor of The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She is the Chair of the Department of Surgery and the Senior Vice President of the Surgical Service Line at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Dr. Wong graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with an undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology and minor in Business Administration. She received her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Wong completed her General Surgery residency at the University of Louisville and a clinical fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she served as the Chief Administrative Fellow.
Dr. Wong is a surgical oncologist with clinical expertise in soft tissue sarcoma and melanoma. Her health services research program has been funded by National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the American Cancer Society. She is active in the education and mentorship of surgeon-scientists and has been honored with numerous medical student and resident teaching awards.
She is currently the Treasurer of the Society of University Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology. She is an Associate Editor for Annals of Surgical Oncology, the Journal of Oncology Practice and the World Journal of Surgery, and is on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Surgical Oncology, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, and Annals of Surgery.
