Jane Hankins, MD, MS
Dr. Jane Hankins is an associate member in the Department of Hematology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Hankins’ research interests include outcomes research in sickle cell disease, specifically during the transition period from pediatric to adult care. Dr. Hankins has many years of experience running clinical trials for sickle cell disease, including those utilizing hydroxyurea. She has NIH and other Federal and State funding for her research. She is the Principal Investigator of a long-term lifetime cohort study that seeks to better understand the role clinical and genetic predictive factors in the progression of sickle cell disease and a PI for an NHBLI-funded study to test the use of a new app to improve hydroxyurea adherence among adolescents and adults with Sickle cell disease.
