Lena Hatchett, PhD

Lena Hatchett, PhD is Associate Professor of Medical Education Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and Executive Lead for Proviso Partners for Health. As a community-based participatory researcher and health equity coach, her research evaluates the policy, systems and environmental change strategies that connect community health and the local food economy. Dr. Hatchett works locally to build a culture of health in low-income communities of color in Proviso Township. In partnership with the local businesses, schools, community organizations, and resident partners, she supports two social enterprises in the local food economy. Nationally, she guides the implementation of Community of Solutions skills as co-lead on the Leadership Team for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation 100 Million Healthier Lives Initiative. 100MLives is designed to mobilize leaders across sectors to learn and take action together on equity and to measure meaningful impact.
