I graduated undergraduate from the University of Miami with a BS in Biology in 1990. I then entered the University of Miami School of Medicine and graduated with honors in 1994. I then pursued training in Internal Medicine completing internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in 1997. I then joined the faculty in General Internal Medicine for one year before leaving for Denver, CO. In Colorado, I pursued a combined fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine and Occupational/Environmental Medicine. I completed that training in 2002. During that time I also obtained a Masters in Science in Public Health degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. I then moved back to Dallas and joined the faculty of UT Southwestern in Pulmonary and Critical Care. I remained here since 2002 and have now been promoted to full professor. I also completed a Masters of Science in Management and Administrative Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. I am currently the medical director of the Allergy, Immunology, and Pulmonary Clinic and the Co-Director of the Interstitial Lung Disease Program. I am also active in the clinical transformation. I am an elected member of the Executive Committee to the MSRDP Board. I am a Co-Chair of the Ambulatory Operations Council and I serve on the Ambulatory Services Committee.
