Robert Kinney, PhD, LP, LPC-Supervisor

Robert Kinney, Ph.D. works in the UT Southwestern Center for Depression Research and Clinical Care (CDRC), and teaches in the division of psychology. Dr. Kinney leads the CDRC Mood Disorders Network. This Network aims to create and maintain partnerships with primary care and specialty clinics with the goals of identifying and treating mental health concerns, as well as garnering understanding of mood disorders.
Dr. Kinney holds a doctorate in counseling psychology from Seton Hall University as well as an MA in Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. His experience includes the APA accredited Student Counselling Center at UT Dallas, community mental health, university health centers, hospitals, and outpatient practice. His areas of expertise include depression, mood disorders, risk assessment, psychodynamics, and lifespan development.
