Renée Joskow, DDS, MPH, FAGD, FACD, FICD
CAPT Joskow graduated with honors from Columbia University with both Doctor of Dental Surgery and a Master of Public Health degrees. She then completed a hospital-based General Practice Residency prior to being appointed as an Assistant Professor of Dentistry at Columbia University. During her academic tenure, Dr. Joskow also maintained a private practice in New York and provided Quality Assurance/Quality Control consulting services for several healthcare entities in the NY, NJ, CT, Tri-State area.
After many years in the academic, private and corporate sectors, Dr. Joskow joined the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a fellow before being Commissioned in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) as an Emerging Environmental Threats Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Joskow later transferred to the Office of the Surgeon General to serve as the Medical Readiness Manager/Director of Training and Education for the USPHS Commissioned Corps. She subsequently was appointed as the Senior Medical Epidemiologist and Program Manager in the Department of Homeland Security. Dr. Joskow returned to the NIH as a Research Officer and Program Official principally responsible for providing subject matter expertise, management and support for a multi-million dollar research portfolio to promote and accelerate the translation of scientific research discoveries into clinical practice and then community practice to improve health.
Dr. Joskow is now the Chief Dental Officer for the Health Resources and Services Administration. Dr. Joskow is a Diplomate, and board certified in the specialty of Dental Public Health, a fellow in the International and American College of Dentists, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the New York Academy of Dentists. Dr. Joskow proudly holds the rank of Captain (O-6) in the USPHS.
