Sandeep Das, MD, MPH, MBA

Sandeep Das, MD, MPH, is a Professor of Internal Medicine in the Cardiology Division at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and Director of Acute Coronary Care at Parkland Hospital. He also serves as the Director for Quality and Value for the Cardiology Division, as a UT Southwestern Health System Quality Officer, and is a founding member of the Center of Innovation and Value at Parkland.
Dr. Das received his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. He went on to graduate from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, then to complete an Internal Medicine Residency and earn his Master of Public Health degree at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, followed by cardiology fellowship at UT Southwestern. After completing his training in 2007, he joined the faculty at UT Southwestern. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the combined UT Southwestern/UT Dallas program in 2018.
Dr. Das currently balances his time between patient care, research, teaching, and improving the quality and safety of care for the urban poor. His primary research interest is in quality of care and outcomes. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA), and an Associate Editor for Circulation, a leading cardiology journal. He has been the ACC representative to the ADA Standards of Care since 2018 and was co-chair of the 2018 and 2020 ACC Expert Consensus Decision Pathways on Novel Therapies for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes.
