Jose Castillo-Lugo, Medical Director Kidney Pancreas Transplant Program Methodist Dallas Medical Center
Dr. Jose Castillo-Lugo received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico. He then received his doctor of medicine from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine as well as his internship, residency and nephrology fellowship. He moved, with his family, to Dallas in 1993 for a one-year transplant medicine fellowship at Methodist Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. He first joined Dallas Nephrology Associates from 1994 until 1998. From !998 until 2001, he was assistant professor at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He rejoined DNA in 2001 and Methodist Dallas Medical Center has been his primary hospital since 2001. He has been Medical Director of the Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Program at Methodist Dallas since 2005 and is active on many committees. He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, International Society of Nephrology, and American Society of Transplantation.
