Tierra Blackmon, MSN, AGACNP-C, FNP-BC

Tierra is a board certified Nurse Practitioner at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is dual certified as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center, respectively. Originally from Madison, Mississippi, she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. 

Tierra joined UT Southwestern in 2017 and was the first advanced practice provider to work solely with the sickle cell population in the inpatient setting at UT Southwestern.  Although, she transferred to the internal medicine division she still works very closely with the sickle cell population and remains a lifelong advocate. Tierra is a also a member of Texas Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, North Texas Nurse Practitioners, and Sickle Cell Disease Association of America.
