- Personal Statement
I have been appointed at various academic institutions as a resident, fellow and faculty member over the last 25 years. I have been involved with clinical, translational and basic science research resulting in a number of publications. Apart from intramural and extra-mural funding from sources other than NIH, I have also participated NIH funded research projects as a Co-investigator. I have extensive clinical experience in the field of infertility, assisted reproductive technologies, diminished ovarian reserve and ovarian aging and fertility preservation. Currently I am the division director of reproductive endocrinology and infertility and the practice & medical director of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) program and the medical director of the fertility clinic at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where part of the current project would be conducted. I developed the ART program during my tenure introducing various fertility, third party reproduction and fertility preservation services and in vitro fertilization protocols unique to our center. The next stage in new clinical program development will include ovarian cortical tissue freezing service for future autotransplantation, which is considered the only method for fertility preservation in pre-pubertal females before life-saving treatments.
