A. Personal Statement
I work as a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine with thirty years of experience in the private sector as a private practitioner in obstetrics and gynecology. As a professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, I am involved in direct obstetrical patient care, supervision of high risk pregnancies in Parkland Memorial Hospital and the obstetrical complications clinic, teaching of obstetrical residents and maternal fetal medicine fellows and actively involved with clinical research.
My principle interests in research have been focused on hypertension in pregnancy, eclampsia, morbidly adherent placentation, thyroid disease in pregnancy, and previously was co-investigator in the Chronic Hypertension And Pregnancy Project (CHAP) funded by National Institute of Health: NHLBI.
