Rachel Bonnema, MD, MS
Dr. Bonnema is associate division chief of general internal medicine and an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) in Dallas, TX. Dr. Bonnema received her medical degree from the University of South Dakota and completed her internal medicine residency in the Women’s Health Track at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where she also completed a General Internal Medicine fellowship with a concentration in Women’s Health and received a master’s degree in medical education.
Dr. Bonnema has a broad range of experiences across the educational continuum, having taught students and residents in communication skills and women's health, serving as a residency associate program director for eight years, and wide-ranging expertise in faculty development. Dr. Bonnema is an active member of both the Society of General Internal Medicine, serving on the Education Committee and as TEACH faculty, as well as the Associate of Program Directors in Internal Medicine where she serves on the Program Planning Committee.
