Jon Guidry, MD
Jon A. Guidry MD currently serves as Medical Director for Clinical Safety Research at the Texas A&M Rural Community and Health Institute. Dr. Guidry is an expert in clinical psychopharmacology, the treatment of patients with severe mental illness, and the development of patient safety evaluation systems in mental health. Dr. Guidry is a board-certified psychiatrist with 27 years of experience including 10 years in the university setting, and 17 years of service to the patients at Rusk State Hospital. Dr. Guidry graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, and obtained his MD from UTMB. Formerly, as Medical Director of Rusk State Hospital, he was the chair of the Texas State Hospital System PSES. Dr. Guidry’s special interest is the development and implementation of systems to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with severe mental illness on complex drug regimens.
