M Brett Cooper, MD
M. Brett Cooper is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UTSouthwestern Medical Center and an Adolescent Medicine physician at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. He joined the faculty at UT Southwestern in 2018. Dr. Cooper completed his medical education at the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State Universityin 2007. He completed pediatrics residency at the University of Toledoin 2015andanadolescent medicine fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in 2018. His clinical interests include LGBTQ health, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP),and male health. His academic interests include curriculum development on LGBTQ health for medical trainees. Dr. Cooper has presented nationally and regionally on topics such as HIV PrEP and LGBTQ Health and was an author on the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine Position Paper on HIV PrEP for Adolescents and Young Adults. His work has been published in MedEdPortal and blogs of the Texas Medical Association. He is currently one of the co-chairs of the LGBT Special Interest Group for the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine.
