Dr. Peck is an Associate Director of the Arizona Burn Center in Phoenix.  In addition he is Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix, and Adjunct Professor in the Division of Community, Environment and Policy at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson.  He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the American Burn Association as one of the past presidents. 

Dr. Peck received his B.A. from Harvard University in 1976, his M.D. from the University of Colorado in 1981, and his Sc.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 1990.  He completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of Arizona (1981-1986), followed by a clinical fellowship in Burn Surgery at the University of Washington (1986-1987) and by a research fellowship at the Cincinnati Shriners Hospital for Burned Children (1987-1990).  He has served as medical director of regional burn centers at the University of Miami (1990-1996) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1996-2007). 

Dr. Peck has been primary focal point of contact for the International Society for Burn Injuries with the Violence and Injury Prevention Sector of the World Health Organization since 2002.  During that time, he has participated in the publication of several reports, including “A WHO Plan for Burn Prevention and Care” (2008), “World Report on Child Injury Prevention” (2008), and “Burn Prevention—Success Stories, Lessons Learned” (2011).   He has also been involved with the development and maintenance of the WHO Global Burn Registry.  Currently he is Chairman of the ISBI Prevention Committee, which is focused on reducing violence against women and girls by burning, including acid.
