I was born and raised in a small town in far west Texas. I studied biology at the university of Texas at Austin for undergraduate degree and then completed a Master's program in biomedical sciences and clinical research prior to attending medical school at UNTHSC in Fort Worth, Tx. I completed pediatric residency at Dell Children's in Austin, TX prior to coming to UTSW for pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship. During the second and third years of my fellowship I have focused on the study of clonal hematopoiesis in our childhood cancer survivor population through a translational research project. I hope to continue my career in academic medicine after fellowship.
