Laurie Robbins, BSN, RN, CBCN
Laurie Robbins is the RN Clinical Educator at UT Southwestern Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. Laurie received both an Associate of Science and an Associate Degree in Nursing from El Centro College and her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington. She is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Nursing Leadership from Liberty University. Laurie began her nursing career as an inpatient medical/surgical nurse at a large hospital system in Dallas, Texas. She then found her calling as an oncology nurse in 2015 and has never looked back. Laurie holds a national certification from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation as a Certified Breast Care Nurse, as well as certificates in both chemotherapy/biotherapy and radiation therapy. Laurie was a recipient of the Oncology Nursing Foundation Bachelor's Degree Scholarship in 2018. Laurie advocates for all oncology nurses through her strong involvement with the Oncology Nursing Society, both at the local and national levels. In addition, Laurie is working to strengthen the nursing profession in Texas through her work with the Texas Nurses Association’s Nursing Professional Development committee. Laurie’s passion is to support and encourage all nurses to continuously pursue professional development, strengthen research and evidence-based practice and pass on their knowledge to future generations.
