Dr Wakhlu is the Associate Chief of the Addiction Division in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern. He is also the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Director. He has been a Faculty member since 2003 with the rank of Professor. He is active in patient care and medical student/resident/fellow teaching and has been the recipient of several teaching awards. He is a member of the Southwestern Academy of Teachers (SWAT). His areas of interest are opioid and nicotine addiction. He has published articles and book chapters on addiction related topics.
