Mary Norton, MD
Dr. Mary Norton is a perinatologist and clinical geneticist, and is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. She is the Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Vice Chair of Clinical and Translational Genetics, and co-Director of the UCSF Center for Maternal-Fetal Precision Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tufts University Affiliated Hospitals, and her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Clinical Genetics at the University of California, San Francisco. Her clinical and research interests include genetic testing and its application to prenatal screening and diagnosis. She focuses on the unique aspects of translating new genetic and genomic technologies into improved care for pregnant women and their fetuses. Much of her research has involved cell free DNA screening and implementation into practice, as well as patient and provider education regarding prenatal genetics.
