michelle pearlman, Assistant Professor, M.D.

Dr. Michelle Pearlman is Assistant Professor in the Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Pearlman received her medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, completed her internal medicine internship and residency at The University of California San Diego, and her Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern.
Dr. Pearlman is a Physician Nutrition Specialist and board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Obesity Medicine. Dr. Pearlman is on a mission to educate the community on the fundamentals of wellness and nutrition and works closely with numerous subspecialties including bariatrics, hepatology, endocrinology, sleep medicine, sports medicine, oncology and dietetics to provide comprehensive care to patients with nutritional issues whether it be malnutrition or obesity. In partnership with bariatric surgery, she evaluates pre and post bariatric patients, and helps in the management of post-bariatric malnutrition, weight re-gain, surgical evaluation and routine aftercare as well as general gastroenterology.
Dr. Pearlman has helped organize numerous nutrition-related seminars at the medical center, undergraduate campus and throughout the University of Miami community to improve access to care and improve nutrition education to students, staff, and the community at large.
