John Coverdale
John Coverdale MB ChB, Dip Obs., MD., MEd., FRANZCP is Professor of Psychiatry, Behavioral Sciences and Medical Ethics at Baylor College of Medicine. He graduated from the University of Otago Medical School, New Zealand, in 1980 and completed an MD (research degree, University of Otago) in 2004. He serves as Deputy Editor of Academic Psychiatry and Associate Editor of Academic Medicine and co-directs the anti-human trafficking program at Baylor College of Medicine. He has published widely on topics especially related to the care of vulnerable populations, ethics, professionalism and medical education. He is in the Outstanding Faculty Hall of Fame at Baylor College of Medicine and Awards include the Vestermark Award for excellence, creativity and leadership in psychiatric education and the Association of Medical Colleges Presidential Award, the AOA Robert J Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award.
