Hesham Sadek, Hesham Sadek MD, PhD
I obtained my medical degree from Ain Sham University in Cairo, Egypt, and my PhD from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. I completed clinical training in Internal Medicine and cardiology at the University Hospitals of Cleveland and postdoctoral fellowship in cardiac regeneration at UT Southwestern Medical Center. My research focuses on mammalian heart regeneration, and mechanisms of cardiomyocyte cell cycle regulation. I am currently a Professor of Internal Medicine/Cardiology, Molecular Biology and Biophysics and the Associate Director of Center for Regenerative Science and Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where I hold the J. Fred Schoellkopf, Jr. Chair in Cardiology. My lab is funded by grants from NIH, AHA, CPRIT, CRSM and Fondation Leducq.
