Ijeoma Ijeaku, MD MPH FAPA

Dr Ijeoma Ijeaku was born in San Francisco and raised in Nigeria. She earned her medical degree from University of PortHarcourt, Nigeria. She has a master of public health degree from Loma Linda University with an emphasis on medical epidemiology. Her general psychiatry residency was at Loma Linda University, CA while her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training was at University of Southern California. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in general psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry.
She works for the Riverside University Health System-Behavioral Health (RUHS-BH) as a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. Her work in an outpatient children’s clinic as well as psychiatric emergency room gives her access to a population that is primarily underserved and with mental health challenges that are often complicated by multiple psychosocial factors. She is also faculty at the RUHS general psychiatry residency program.
She is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry University of California Riverside School of Medicine. In this capacity, she is a clinical instructor for third year medical students, site director for child psychiatry rotation for the general psychiatry residency and site director for school mental health rotation for the child/adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
She is the current President for Southern California Psychiatry Society.
