Laila Castellino, MD
Laila Castellino, M.D.,is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine’s Division of Infectious Diseases at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Board certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019, where she is working on developing multidisciplinary care teams, particularly as related to endocarditis and bone and joint infections. Additionally, she also serves as the Medical Director for Infectious Diseases at Parkland Health and Hospital System.
Prior to joining UT Southwestern, Dr. Castellino served as Chief of Infectious Diseases at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, where her work encompassed clinical health care as well as health care epidemiology. She has received several research and clinical grants, and initiated a range of services to improve the care of veterans, including multidisciplinary care for veterans with diabetic foot infections, and telehealth care to offer infectious disease services to veterans across a 16-county area in Ohio and Indiana. She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
