Jayati Mallick, Assistant Instructor
I am pathologist from India. After finishing medical school, I did pathology residency (AP/CP) in India and worked as a faculty of pathology n a renowned Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, Nilratan Sircar Medical College and hospital. But soon I felt stagnant and decided to come in USA. After reaching USA I completed my USMLE steps and work as research volunteer for a short period in Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles, CA.
I got chance in AP/CP residency in UMMS-Baystate (Baystate Medical Center), Springfield, MA in 2014 and graduated from there in 2018. It was a golden period of my life. I was able to sharpen my surgical pathology skills and come to know about molecular pathology, cytogenetics, laboratory management etc.
I developed an Interest towards Hematopathology and got chance to do hematopathology fellowship in City of Hope National Medical Center, Duarte, CA. I graduated from there in June/2019 and after that I joined the Thoracic Pathology Team in UT Southwestern as a fellow. It was a golden period of my time, when I could learn not about only the neoplastic diseases but also about benign medical lung diseases and vascular pathology under sound supervision. Now I am continuing here in the same department as Assistant Instructor.
