DeWayne Williams, PhD
Dr. DeWayne Williams is an Assistant Professor of Psychological Science at the University of California, Irvine. With a broad interest in social health psychology, Dr. Williams’ research specifically focuses on social psychological factors and physiological mechanisms underpinning self-regulation, heath, and heath disparities found between African and European Americans.
Dr. Williams completed his undergraduate, M.A., and Ph.D. in psychology at The Ohio State University. His dissertation, completed in 2017 with a focus on psychophysiology, was on Ethnicity, Sex, and Vagal Activity: Differences in Hemodynamics Underlying Long-Term Blood Pressure Regulation. He also completed two years of post-doctoral training at The Ohio State University. Dr. Williams was also awarded the Chancellor’s ADVANCE Postdoctoral Fellowship.
