Ann-Katrin Grotle, PhD
I am currently a second-year postdoctoral fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Paul J. Fadel in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Texas at Arlington. My formal research training began as a doctoral student under the mentorship of Dr. Audrey Stone at UT Austin. I have a strong passion for translational research. During my PhD, I performed basic research focused on elucidating underlying neural mechanisms for the exaggerated blood pressure response to exercise in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Now, I have transitioned to human research for my postdoctorate where I am pursuing an interest in neural-immune interactions. My career goal is to become a productive, independently funded investigator in physiology performing clinically meaningful and impactful research in the neural control of the circulation in health and disease.
