Dr. Lia Thomas is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, and serves as both the Associate Program Director for Recruitment Strategies and as APD for the Dallas VA Medical Center for the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.  She is the Medical Director of the outpatient Mental Health Trauma Services team, an interdisciplinary team focused on providing evidenced based care to Veterans with PTSD.  Dr. Thomas is passionate about education and development of psychiatry learning of medical trainees at all levels and is involved in both ADMSEP and AADPRT. Her academic interests are in psychiatry education, equitable residency recruitment practices, diversity and inclusion, and resident workforce issues.  Dr. Thomas is an editorial board member for the journal Academic Psychiatry.
