Gregory Sayuk, MD, MPH

Dr. Gregory Sayuk is a Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, and Professor, Department of Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed his medical school training at the University of Texas in Houston and his Internal Medicine Residency training and Gastroenterology fellowship at Washington University. Additionally, Dr. Sayuk holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Saint Louis University.
Dr. Sayuk is the Site Director of GI training at the St. Louis VA Medical Center, where he also oversees the GI motility laboratory. His clinical and research interests are primarily in disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI), and in particular the influence of non-GI pain and psychiatric comorbidities on DGBI symptom expression and treatment responses.
