Thomas O Dalton, MD, UT Southwestern Medical School

Dr. Dalton is originally from East Texas. He attended medical school at UT Southwestern, where he also completed residency training in Internal Medicine. Following an additiona year serving as Chief Resident for UTSW's Internal Medicine Department, he went to Duke University to complete a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine with a concentration in Medical Education. He returned to UT Southwestern to help contribute to the institution’s mission of improving health care for older adults in North Texas and also to the undergraduate and graduate medical education programs.
Dr. Dalton’s clinical interests center on acute care of the older adult; perioperative care for older adults undergoing elective surgery; and understanding vulnerability, resilience, and recovery in aging adults.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Dalton enjoys spending time with his family, teaching and mentoring medical students and doctors in training, reading broadly, and buying into the Dallas Cowboys year after year.
