Yann-Fuu Kou, MD

Yann-Fuu Kou, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric otolaryngology, particularly chronic otitis media; aerodigestive disorders; dysphagia, obstructive sleep apnea, and children with tracheostomies.
Dr. Kou earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern, where he also completed a residency in otolaryngology. He gained advanced training in pediatric otolaryngology through a fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.
Dr. Kou’s research interests include pediatric airway disorders, pediatric tracheostomy outcomes, and pediatric obstructive sleep apnea. He has presented and published extensively in these areas, including contributing to the books Case Studies in Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and Audiology and Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery and Intensive Care.
He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, and The Triological Society.
