Brian Rutt, PhD, is Professor of Radiology at the Lucas Center for Imaging, Stanford University, where he has been on the faculty since 2009. Prior to his time at Stanford, he was on the faculty of the University of Western Ontario / Robarts Research Institute in London, Ontario Canada where he helped to establish and grow the Imaging Research Laboratories. Dr. Rutt has a background in engineering, medical biophysics and imaging research, with graduate degrees from Stanford University and the University of Toronto, and postdoctoral training at UCSF. He has made important contributions involving the development of MRI technology, through novel biophysical measurements as well as basic science and clinical applications of high field MRI.
