Howard Weiner, M.D.
Howard J. Weiner, M.D. received his medical degree from UTSW and post graduate training occurred at UTHSC San Antonio and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas followed by a GI fellowship at UTSW. He previously practiced for over 37 years in the greater Dallas area, most recently with Digestive Health Associates of Texas at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He joined the UTSW faculty in June, 2020. In addition to practicing general gastroenterology, he has spent over 15 years using advanced diagnostic testing methods for GI motility disorders to be bring improved care and decision making to his patients. He has also tested new methods for advanced colonoscopy imaging.
In addition to clinical practice, he has been a leader in multiple not-for-profit and for-profit health care entities, including health plan boards, hospital and medical staff leadership, and multispecialty physician organizations. He has held leadership positions with various community organizations as well. He enjoys backpacking, hiking, cycling, and running, as well as experiencing architecture, the visual arts and musical performances.
