Joe Kwon
Dr. Kwon has been a part of UT Southwestern Faculty in Department of Psychiatry since June 2016. He attended University of California, Berkeley, for undergraduate education, where he attained bachelor's degree in molecular and cell biology. Prior to medical school, he spent a year in Chicago to take part in Mission Year, an urban ministry internship. He then attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he attained doctorate in medicine. He went on to New York University for residency in general psychiatry as well as fellowship in addiction psychiatry. He went on to stay in New York to work as a faculty psychiatrist at Bellevue psychiatric emergency service, then moved to Dallas to continue his work as an emergency psychiatrist at Parkland. In 2017 he took on the role of the medical director of Parkland Psychiatric Emergency Service, then subsequently as co-chief of psychiatry at Parkland in 2020.
