Sarah Swenson, MD, DPhil

Sarah A. Swenson is a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellow at the University of Minnesota. She received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Minnesota. Prior to matriculating to medical school, she received her Doctorate in Philosophy in History of Science and Medicine from University of Oxford, UK, focusing on the social and political factors that influenced biological theories of social behavior in the 20th century. Her clinical research interests include enhancing opportunities for wellbeing for families of infants in the neonatal intensive care unit, both during hospitalization and after discharge. She has additional interests in advocacy and education with the goal of optimizing neurodevelopmental outcomes for NICU graduates.
