Poorvanshi Alag, MD, MPH is a board-certified addiction psychiatrist and obesity medicine specialist with clinical and academic interests spanning addiction psychiatry, co-occurring psychiatric disorders, obesity medicine, and the intersection of behavioral and metabolic health. Her work focuses on advancing evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders and obesity while expanding access to high-quality care for underserved populations.

Dr. Alag has contributed to clinical care, medical education, curriculum development, research, and addiction and obesity treatment program development. Her scholarly interests include opioid use disorder, addiction treatment outcomes, precision medicine, obesity, and innovative approaches to integrating mental and metabolic health care.
