Katelyn Jetelina, MPH PHD
- Dr. Katelyn Jetelina is an epidemiologist, professor, and educator. She’s worked at the World Health Organization, as a professor of epidemiology at University of Texas Health Science Center, and is currently Director of Population Health Analytics at Meadows Institute. In addition, Dr. Jetelina is the founder and author of Your Local Epidemiologist, a viral newsletter that “translates” scientific research and events (like the COVID19 pandemic) to the community. In the past two years, her newsletter has reached over 160 million people in 132 countries and is actively translated in 6 languages. Dr. Jetelina was awarded two national awards for her newsletter: A medal of honor from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Emergency Management and Medical Operations Field Operations and Response and the Public Health Practice Award from the American Public Health Association.
