John Zervopoulos
Dr. John Zervopoulos is a lawyer and a board-certified forensic psychologist. Since 2009, he directs PsychologyLaw Partners, a forensic consulting service that applies his practical four-step PLAN Model to help family lawyers organize, critique, and use psychology-related materials and evidence when strategizing case issues, deposing or examining mental health experts, and drafting court documents.
Dr. Zervopoulos also publishes materials to help lawyers manage psychological evidence and experts in their cases. His latest book, How to Examine Mental Health Experts: A Family Lawyer’s Handbook of Issues and Strategies—2nd Ed.was released in 2020 by the American Bar Association. The companion book, Confronting Mental Health Evidence—2nd Ed., was released in 2015 by the ABA. In addition, Dr. Zervopoulos writes PsychologyLaw Brief, a free semi-monthly email that offers practice tips for lawyers on managing mental health experts, their work, and their testimony. Dr. Zervopoulos earned his JD from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, his PhD in psychology from the University of North Texas, and his BA from Wheaton College. He is board certified in forensic psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
