Lisa Chao, M.D.

Dr. Chao joined the faculty at UT Southwestern in 2018 as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed her residency at Stanford University Medical Center. She went on to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Magee-Womens Hospital of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center under Drs. Ted Lee and Suketu Mansuria. Dr. Chao specializes in advanced minimally invasive surgery for benign gynecologic disorders such as pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, and ovarian cysts. She is dedicated to improving women's health through the practice of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and the education of fellows, residents, and medical students in this important surgical modality.
