Paras Patel, DDS, DABOMP
Paras B. Patel DDS is a board certified oral and maxillofacial pathologist, who recently transitioned into private practice and established the Center for Oral Pathology in Dallas, Texas, a practice with the sole mission of providing a full range of clinical oral pathology services to the region. He was also given the opportunity to continue his practice of surgical pathology in conjunction with ProPath, where he was instrumental in establishing the division of oral and maxillofacial pathology, where he currently serves as director. Prior to this transition, Dr. Patel was a full-time faculty member at Texas A&M (Baylor) School of Dentistry, where in addition to his educational responsilbities and research activities, he was an active surgical pathologist in a busy biopsy service and maintained a clinical practice seeing patients who suffer from various oral diseases at the college’s stomatology center. Dr. Patel also serves as an associate editor for the Texas Dental Journal managing the oral pathology case of the month. Dr. Patel’s training, both as a clinician and pathologist, as well as his interests have also provided him recent opportunities to be involved in clinical research with a focus on local chemotherapeutic options for the treatment and management of oral cancer and oral potentially malignant disorders.
