Leo Chen, MBBS MPysch PhD FRANZCP AFRACMA

Leo Chen is a psychiatrist, neuroscience researcher and medical educator. He is Deputy Director of the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre, where he leads the Clinical TMS and Psychopharmacology Research Units. He is a lecturer at Monash University and the Director of Psychiatry Training at Alfred Health, where he oversees the professional development of 60+ psychiatry residents and junior doctors. He is passionate about clinical research that has immediate, meaningful impact for patients and their families. He is an expert in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Through translation of cutting-edge neuroscience, he strives to optimise TMS's efficacy in depression and investigate its application in women's mental health conditions. He has been Principal Investigator in large, multi-site TMS clinical trials and has been invited to present his research at local and international conferences as well as being published in high impact factor peer-reviewed journals.
