Stowe Teti, MA, HEC-C

I am a clinical ethicist, bioethics researcher, and editor-in-chief of Pediatric Ethicscope: The Journal of Pediatric Bioethics. I currently oversee the clinical ethics consult service at Inova Health System’s Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, where I perform over 500 ethics consults per year across the campus’s five hospitals. I teach clinical ethics to medical students and house staff, co-run the clinical ethics rotation for UVA Medicine, and run small group discussion sessions for Georgetown University Medical School. Prior to that I held an appointment as core teaching faculty at the Harvard Medical School Center for Bioethics and lecturer in the department of Global Health and Social Medicine, where I was director of the Writing Support Program, executive editor of the Harvard Bioethics Journal, and co-leader in the Capstone Program. My principal research interests include examining the nature of decisional authority and shared decision-making in critical care medicine and the emerging bioethical questions around built space in healthcare architecture.
