Zhen Wang, MD
Dr. Zhen Jane Wang is a Professor of Radiology, Chief of Abdominal Imaging and Associate Chair for Strategic Planning in the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at University of California San Francisco. She also serves as the Associate Director for the NIH T32 clinician-scientist training program in the Department.
Dr. Wang is recognized for her clinical expertise that spans multiple areas of abdominal imaging, in particular oncological imaging of kidney and pancreas. Her research programs focus on metabolic imaging of the kidney and pancreas. She is a principal investigator on three current NIH awards focusing on kidney and pancreas imaging with hyperpolarized carbon-13 MRI and PET/MRI. Dr. Wang has received multiple awards including the Distinguished Investigator Award from the Academy for Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research in 2019.
Dr. Wang has held multiple leadership roles in professional societies, including having recently served as Chair of the Radiological Society of North America Gastrointestinal Committee, and is currently serving as the Portfolio Director for Lifelong Learning of the Society of Abdominal Radiology. She has lectured extensively at national and international meetings.
